Established in 2008, by winemaker and owner Seth Cripe, LOLA was a dream that Seth developed as a busboy in a restaurant in his native Anna Maria Island in Florida. At the age of 17, Seth left home to pursue his dream. After 12 harvests at some of the worlds’ most renowned wineries, where he was involved in many aspects of winemaking and viticulture from farming to technology, Seth set out to make his own mark in creating the next great Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Dry Riesling from the top wine growing regions of coastal California.
LOLA is a Napa Valley based boutique winery with the vision of creating high quality, but approachable wines. Our winemaking approach pays tribute to the old-world tradition with carefully selected vineyards and handcrafted in small batches. LOLA’s portfolio consists of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Dry Riesling from Russian River, Sonoma Coast, Mendocino and Santa Lucia Highlands.
2013 Russian River Valley Pinot NoirLOLA Russian River Pinot Noir is a blend of Dijon clone 115 and a clone brought back from Vosne Romaneé by Seth Cripe, years ago, both of which are planted at our Bloomfield Road Vineyard in Russian River Valley. Deep garnet in color, this wine has the aromas of fresh wild strawberry, cherry, red currant and a hint of vanilla bean, complemented by notes of cedar and cinnamon. Refreshing acidity and delicate tannins reveal themselves in the long finish.
The 2013 Pinot Noir Russian River saw 20% whole clusters, but also enjoyed 20% new French oak for six months. (The reason for getting these wines in bottle so quickly is so that fruit is their hallmark.) This 2013 offers up notes of sweet and sour cherries, Asian plums, and hints of earth, underbrush and tobacco leaf. It is medium-bodied and best drunk over the next several years.

2014 Artisanal Series Pinot Noir Coast Grade Vineyard Ben Lomond MountainLola Artisanal Series Pinot Noir Coast Grade Vineyard. Plenty of fresh plums, figs and spicy cedar excellent acidity and structure.
This is the inaugural vintage of the LOLA Artisanal Series Coast Grade Vineyard Pinot Noir.
The vineyard is situated just under a mile from the Pacific Ocean on Ben Lomond Mountain - the western most area of the Santa Cruz Mountain appellation.
Planted on sandy loam soil with a shallow underlying bed of limestone, the vineyard sits just above the coastal fog-line, lending to cool evening and early morning temperatures and afternoon spikes of near perfect moderate heat, ideal for ripening world class pinot noir. The 2014 vintage has aromas of ripe plum, strawberry and cola. Tart cherry, fresh fig and bright acidity.

2015 North Coast Pinot NoirLOLA North Coast Pinot Noir is a blend of unique vineyards from Mendocino, Russian River Valley and the Sonoma Coast. 2015 was a great vintage for our North Coast Pinot Noir vineyards and the wine reflects that balance we saw in nature itself throughout the year. The wine is made in the same style as always, preserving the dark berry fruit, cola and redwood forest aromas of Northern California grown Pinot Noir while maintaining bright acidity, lower alcohol and a soft, supple, delicate tannin structure.
This winery also scored well with their cross AVA blend from Mendocino, Russian River and the Sonoma Coast, the 2015 Pinot Noir, which was aged in 20% new French oak for six months. Pomegranate, red currant, allspice, roasted herbs and forest floor are make an appearance in this soft, round, juicy but lovely Pinot Noir, which is a dead ringer for a generic Côte de Beaune.

2015 Sonoma Coast ChardonnayLOLA Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is pale gold in color with flavors of tropical fruits and citrus, complimented by delicate floral aromas and a bright crisp mouth-feel. A portion of this wine is aged in older oak (going through secondary malolactic fermentation), in an effort to provide a caramelized richness to accent the aromatics and palate.
The 2015 Chardonnay from the Sonoma Coast stays in 70% stainless steel and sees no malolactic, while the rest is aged in neutral French oak. It’s a nice Chardonnay, and there are over 3,000 cases of it. Clean, crisp lemon and apple blossom, white peach and a touch of pear are all present in this modern style, fresh, steely and mineral-laced, mid-weight Chardonnay with surprising concentration and fruit.
