The Bisci farm is the result of the passion of brothers Giuseppe and Pierino Bisci for their territory and their land. In 1972 they bought an estate of about 25 hectares and transformed it over the years in one of the reference estates in the production of Verdicchio di Matelica. Today Mauro and Tito Bisci, sons of Giuseppe, are the owners of the company. The property is situated in Matelica in between the provinces of Macerata and Ancona. It covers an area of about 20 hectares, entirely within the territory of Verdicchio di Matelica DOC. The 25 hectares of vineyards are organic farmed (CCPB certified), more than 17 hectares of which are under Verdicchio di Matelica vines and a bit more than 2 hectares are cultivated with red grapes such as Sangiovese and Merlot. The vineyards are located in mid-hill at an altitude that goes from 320 to 370 meters above sea level, slightly sloping and in prevalence exposed to the south.

Rosso Villa Castiglioni IGT

The wine is obtained by fermentation of grapes Sangiovese. The grapes are harvested in mid-October after careful selection. The fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a temperature of 28-32 ° C. By the time the maceration, run continuous daily mixing. The result is a full-bodied wine suitable for longer aging.

Verdicchio di Matelica DOC

Our Matelica Verdicchio DOC wine is obtained entirely from grapes Verdicchio. The grapes are harvested by hand, it is transported immediately to the cellar where, after a soft pressing, pressed directly with horizontal presses to separate the juice from the skins. The must is lowered in temperature to separate parts fecciose and then sent to ferment controlling the temperature that never exceeds 20 ° C. All winery operations are aimed at enhancing the best features of the vine through the utmost respect of the grapes. Verdicchio of Matelica is a vine that requires extraordinary attention in the processing because of the sensitivity of their skin, but then gives musts and wines with cloth and enviable body supported by the high acidity and alcoholic richness that allow a remarkable longevity, the latter feature rare for white wines.

Verdicchio di Matelica Riserva “Senex” DOCG

The wine is made, only in the best vintages, from a selection of Verdicchio grapes of the “Fogliano” vineyard. The exposure of the vineyard along with the vocation of the land allow to have a good balance between vegetation and production and then grapes of great concentration. Senex is a wine of great structure and it is therefore suitable for long ageing. The DOCG denomination impose a period of at least 18 months from the harvest before the wine can be released in the market. Our choice goes far beyond the denomination indications because our project on this wine is to show the great longevity that such a selection of Verdicchio can have.

Verdicchio di Matellica “Vingeto Fogliano” DOC

Wine made from a meticulous selection of grapes Verdicchio di Matelica from the best vineyards of the company which is the Vineyard Fogliano, from which it takes its name, and is produced only in the best vintages. Made from 100% grapes of Verdicchio Matelica this wine has a remarkable structure and is distinguished by its longevity during which gradually discovers his own qualities. It has typical aromas along with a typical slightly bitter taste that recalls almond. It reaches its maximum expression after two years of aging.
